Roksanda-A/W 2012 Grunge Bun

Inspired by the original daring spirit of women in the 1940s bringing the comfort and practicality of menswear into their lives, while keeping an air of elegance and femininity. The collection with deep warm shades of burgundy and flashes of amethyst, white and jade evokes an outdoors, off screen and sporty spirit, flat shoes, tailoring and utilitarian fabrics are mixed with gauze-like silks, statement jacquards and graphic embroidery, to embrace a creative take on the androgynous 1940's taking reference from Katherine Hepburn and Amelia Earhart.

Step 1
Spritz Charles Worthington Results Mussed Up Texturising Spray throughout dry hair working in with the fingers and teasing out flyaways at the hairline and around the face until fully dry
To matte out the texture, use a light mist of the Charles Worthington Front Row Salt Spray at the ends of the hair.
Step 2
Use a flat brush and fingers to scrape the bulk of the hair into a ponytail. Taking the internal sections at the crown of the pony, gently back brush to create a suggestion of lift and texture.

Step 3
Secure pony with an elastic and use the band to create a bun shape making sure to tighten as you pull it round so that it stays really contained.
Step 4
Using no more than 3-4 pins, secure the bun whilst cupping in the palm of the hand for shape

Step 5
Apply more of the Charles Worthington Results Mussed Up Texturising Spray around the hairline and the sideburns and massage in Charles Worthington Front Row High Definition Crackle Wax to the roots to encourage a high shine finish at the roots.
Step 6
Finished look.
